Admission Requirements & Procedure

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS - 2017

Note: Admissions will start for the next academic year 2017-2018 on Sunday 21st of May 2017
        

     
  • Higher Secondary Certificate in Science subjects.
  •    
  • Such a certificate must be of the same year or a year before, and duly attested by the competent authority.
  •    
  • The applicant must complete 12 years of education in school.
  •    
  • Equivalence certificate from the Ministry of Education for the grade 12 passed (as equivalent to the higher secondary certificate of the Ministry of Education – UAE).
  •    
  • Standardized English Examination (EmSat with score more than 1100 or TOEFL with score of more than 61 or IELTS of more than 5).
    (Institutional TOEFL is NOT ACCEPTABLE)
  •    
  • Passing the Entrance Exam in the following subjects: Biology and Chemistry, and passing the interview.
  •    
  • Priority shall be given to UAE nationals, then to those belonging to GCC nationalities, then to other resident candidates.

UAE (National) Secondary School Certificate:

       
  • Higher Secondary Certificate in Science subjects with a minimum average of 85%.
  •       
  • Attested copy from local relevant authority is required.

Other Secondary School Certificate in the UAE:

British IGCSE:

       
  • The applicant must complete 12 years of education in school and must provide proof thereof.
  •    
  • A minimum grade of B in 5 O-Level subjects, and minimum grade of B in 3 AS-Level subjects or
  •    
  • A minimum grade of B in 5 O-Level subjects and a minimum grade of B in 2 A-Level subject.
  •    
  • The courses should cover at least four areas of study: Mathematics, Languages (English), Social Studies, Fine Arts & Design, and in Sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) are required.
  •    
  • Biology & either (Chemistry - Physics - Math) at the AS level/A level is required.
  •    
  • Result of Arabic & Islamic (Ministry exam) for grade 10, 11 and 12.
  •    
  • Equivalence Certificate MOE/ KHDA/ ADEC.

American Diploma:

        
  • Higher School Certificate in Science subjects with a minimum average of 85 %.
  •    
  • Attested copy from local relevant authority is required.
  •    
  • TOEFL with score of more than 61 or IELTS of more than 5.5
  •    
  • SAT 1 with minimum score 400 in Math.
  •    
  • SAT 2 in two subjects: Biology & either (Chemistry - Physics - Math) with minimum score 550 in each subject.
  •    
  • Result of Arabic & Islamic (Ministry exam) for grade 10, 11 and 12.
  •    
  • Equivalence Certificate MOE/ KHDA/ ADEC.

International Baccalaureate (IB):

        
  • Minimum score of 29 is required.
  •    
  • The student must have studied 6 courses in the fields of Mathematics, Sciences, Social Studies, and Languages with English as the language of instruction.
  •    
  • Student must have studied 3 subjects in the higher level including Biology and Chemistry.
  •    
  • SAT 1 with minimum score 400 in Math.
  •    
  • Result of Arabic & Islamic (Ministry exam) for grade 10, 11 and 12.
  •    
  • Equivalence Certificate MOE/ KHDA/ ADEC.

Indian Board Certificate:

CBSE:

        
  • Minimum average of 75%
  •     
  • Result of Arabic & Islamic (Ministry exam) for grade 10, 11 and 12.
  •     
  • Equivalence Certificate MOE/ KHDA/ ADEC.

State Board:

        
  • Minimum average of 80%
  •     
  • Result of Arabic & Islamic (Ministry exam) for grade 10, 11 and 12.
  •     
  • Equivalence Certificate MOE/ KHDA/ ADEC.

Pakistani Federal Board:

        
  • Minimum average of 70% in the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination.
  •    
  • Result of Arabic & Islamic (Ministry exam) for grade 10, 11 and 12.
  •    
  • Equivalence Certificate MOE/ KHDA/ ADEC.

Secondary School Qualifications Obtained Outside UAE:

        
  • Should be a graduate of a school recognized by the official education authority in the country of study.
  •    
  • Must meet the requirements for admission into university in the country of origin.
  •    
  • With Minimum 12 years of schooling.
  •    
  • Certificates submitted must be authenticated by the:
  •         
                  
    • Education Authority (Home Country)
    •            
    • Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Home Country).
    •            
    • Embassy of the United Arab Emirates or the Embassy of the Country in the UAE.
    •            
    • Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates
    •        
       
  • Equivalence Certificate Ministry of Education in UAE.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

        
  • Admission process starts in the 1st week of June and closes by 2nd week of July.
  •    
  • Applications are to be submitted on the prescribed form accompanied by the following documents:
  •         
                  
    • Statement of marks for Higher Secondary Certificate (an attested copy should be submitted).
    •            
    • Equivalence Certificate.
    •            
    • EmSAT/TOEFL/ ILETS Score Report.
    •            
    • Character-Certificate.
    •            
    • Six personal photographs.
    •            
    • Copy of Passport.
    •            
    • Copy of Emirates ID card.
    •            
    • Copy of Birth Certificate.
    •            
    • Medical Fitness Certificate.
    •        
       
  • Payment of the registration fee: Dhs. 200/-
  •    
  • Passing the Entrance Exam in the following subjects: Chemistry and Biology, and passing the interview.
  •    
  • Final selection of candidates is on the basis of their higher secondary school scores, admission test scores and interview. They will be intimated by phone, fax, post and hand to hand delivery.
