Call for Proposals – Open to National and International Researchers

Dubai Medical University (DMU) is pleased to announce research grants for the 2025 academic year. We invite innovative proposals in the fields of medical education, healthcare technology, public health, pharmaceutical sciences, immunology, genetics, cancer research, and traditional medicine.

This grant opportunity is open to both national and international researchers, provided that each project includes at least one faculty member from DMU.

Evaluation Process

Eligibility Check
Proposals are vetted to ensure compliance with submission guidelines:
1. Compliance with Submission Guidelines: Proposals must adhere to the provided submission guidelines, including formatting, deadlines, and content requirements.
2. Inclusion of a DMU Faculty Member: Each proposal must have at least one Dubai Medical University (DMU) faculty member as a principal investigator or co-investigator to ensure alignment with institutional goals and expertise.
3. Research Relevance and Alignment: Proposals should align with one of the established research domains and contribute to the strategic objectives of DMU.
4. Ethical Considerations: All proposals must include a detailed ethical review document if applicable, ensuring that the research complies with national and international ethical standards.
5. Financial and Resource Feasibility: Proposals must include a comprehensive budget and resource allocation plan that is realistic and justified based on the scope of the project.
6. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Proposals that demonstrate interdisciplinary collaboration, especially involving multiple departments or colleges within DMU, will be given preference.
7. Innovation and Impact: Projects should demonstrate innovative approaches and potential for significant academic, clinical, or societal impact.
8. Data Management Plan: Proposals must include a data management plan outlining how data will be collected, stored, and shared, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
9. Preliminary Data or Pilot Studies: Where applicable, proposals should include preliminary data or results from pilot studies to substantiate the feasibility and relevance of the research.
10. Student Involvement: Proposals that provide opportunities for student involvement, whether through research assistantships, internships, or thesis work, will be highly encouraged.
Independent Review
  • Proposals are reviewed by committee members based on the evaluation criteria.
  • Committee Deliberation: Final funding decisions are made during committee meetings.
  • Feedback: All applicants receive constructive feedback on their proposals, regardless of the funding outcome.
